Millions of tourists come to Rome to visit the monuments, the main squares and the landmarks. Road, buildings, palaces and art galleries make Rome the Eternal City, something that must be seen. But here there something more that the ordinary and the worldwide monuments like the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, Colosseum and the St Peter Basilica.

The author, an art historian, selected 100 places (archeological areas, museums, noble palaces, roads, castles and more) that could represent Rome. Be careful, because this book goes back to time, and not only! Keep in mind that Rome is the result of its long history, that could be seen still today thanks to some hidden surprises.

This text, that is so involving and intriguing, is divided in chapter that start from the ancient age to the modern one. And for each single century the author selected some monuments that could symbolize the social and cultural meanings of each single moment.

For this reason I suggest this book, that could be read by everybody. It is a funny and original way to know, in a fantastic but even soft way, all the aspects of Rome. An ancient, medieval, renaissance, baroque Rome. A city that, through the famous monuments and the unknown chrches, is able to tell us an original story. The book of this author could be read in a fast way, something that you would like to read, being impressed by the several images of this text (a lot of them are old drawings). They make Roma an aura of truth and historical accuracy. I suggest this book!
